TRTT Episode #6 – Long Overdue Update and Q&A!

Hey, hey, hey, how goes it?!

Yes, I know, it’s been crazy forever since I’ve published a post, yet alone recorded a video – but I’m back from my mini hiatus to give you an update quickie, and answer some of your questions. Hooray! :)

Just hit play below on the video to hear my ramblings ;)

I realize that my video was a bit sparse (that’s what happens when you’re in a rush.)

So I did a bit of hunting and found some awesome supplemental pieces from other great bloggers about the WordPress vs. Blogger dual – sharing several different perspectives; as well as insights on social media integration…

WordPress vs. Blogger Resources:

So what say you?

Chime your 2 cents in about this whole WordPress vs. Blogger ordeal. I’d love to hear any funny or interesting stories you have to share about the two platforms.

Thanks again!

To everyone whose emailed, Facebooked, Tweeted, commented,  linked out to me, even shot me words of encouragement on Google Chat (you know who you are ;) ), I truly appreciate your support. You’re awesome and I’m grateful for your loyalty.

Be on the look out for more vids/posts from me soon. Also, be sure to leave any questions or topic suggestions you have for a future TRTT episode in the comment section below.

See ya’ around the net!

    Hey Ti,

Glad to see you back on the blog! I’m really looking forward to what you have going on with your product.

I seriously need to get to making my own, non-plr products since the lack of control over affiliate programs is driving me nuts.

The scary truth is that you don’t ever really own anything online. I’ve lost an entire 300 subscriber email list due to working with a sub-par company in the past.

It’s not the norm, but sticking with high quality companies like Aweber, GetResponse, HostGator, and others is absolutely vital. It’s not worth saving a few dollars to get a cheaper company and put your business on the line.

As for content marketing, blogger is solid, but (not the dot com free version that upsells the heck out of you) is a much better option.

Anyways, if you ever need help or a second opinion on your product, feel free to let me know!

    Thanks a bunch,

    • tiroberts

      Hi, Gabe!

Yeah, it’s important to be careful of the companies you deal with. That’s why I only deal with solid companies.

I’m excited about creating my new product. I’ve already started on it and I’m doing what I can to move the progress along. I’m crazy stoked about it, just wish I had more time to devote to it so the process can move along quicker.

Regardless, when it’s finished I think it’ll be awesome and I can’t wait to share it with everyone! :)

      Thanks for dropping by,

You are so right about losing a list of prospects/clients to save a few bucks.

The same incident happened to me when I signed up for my very first network marketing company back in 2005.

I didn’t know squat and was trying to save a few bucks. I had an employee mindset, not a business owner mindset. I knew nothing of investing.

I can laugh now because I know better now. What a journey it has been.

Since that incident, I have been using Aweber for years. One time, I even had my account closed and had to sign up for a brand new one.(Didn’t have my priorities in order)

      It was okay.

I still had my list of prospects/clients from my old account due to Aweber’s system. Then I stored them in a private database.

I was worried at first but I ended up weeding out the bad leads.

A list is something that you should be able to take with you, no matter where you go in business.

Enjoy your week, Gabe and Ti:)

    great video.

  • Lewis LaLanne – NoteTakingNerd

Nice to see ya back funky fresh in the flesh Ti!

I’ve also had an excellent experience with Host Gator.

I don’t know if you’ve had the pleasure of dealing with their customers service agents yet but if you ever run into a problem, be excited about calling them because they’re sharp and willing to dive deep with you to help get your site working the way it should be.

My partner who does all the techy stuff for the site has spent hours on the phone with them over 2-3 occasions helping him narrow down what was making the site act all wonky (more often than not it ended up being a plug-in issue which taught us the lesson to calm the F down on those Hahaha).

Glad you started off on the right foot with Host Gator and it’s cool that many of your followers will be doing the same thanks to you. :)

    • tiroberts

Hi, Lewis! Great to see your comment.

Yes, hostgator’s customer service is truly top notch. I couldn’t ever see myself going with another provider. They rock!

      Thanks for dropping by. :)

  • Lisa Irby

Ti! Glad that you are back in action! Good luck on your new product. No doubt whatever you do, it will be fabulous and exciting just like your content and presence! Great tip about Blogger. With all the changes going on with the big G, you just never know! You are a natural behind the camera, by the way. Thanks for the shout!

    • tiroberts

      Lol. Thanks, Lisa!

I’m not back as involved as I’d like to be (Humanities and Psychology are sucking up most of my attention) but I’ll be rearranging my schedule to try and get more blogging in.

Thanks again for your encouragement, Lisa. I truly appreciate it. :)

Hi Ti, great to see that you are keeping up with your school work. Even though we miss you, it’s better for us to miss you than it is for your instructors. :)
I always encourage people to test different blogging platforms and Blogger has some advantages, and the biggest one is server up time. In the four years that I’ve been blogging I can’t think of any serious outages and that’s something that no WordPress blogs can brag about.

That doesn’t mean that Blogger is my favorite. All I’m saying is that there is absolutely no reason we have to choose. Just use both, like I do :)

    • tiroberts

Thanks, Ileane. I appreciate your valuable input. :)

  • A Royal Daughter

Thanks for linking to my blog series!

    • tiroberts

Glad to see your comment and you’re welcome! :)

  • NewRealitysolutionZ

Ti- thanx lady, you are always up to date with that research, and that’s a good thing! What I was asking specifically is can I put buttons like FB, Twitter on my Blog when using blogger?! I think there is a way I jus need to do some more research. As I told Terrance we can use each others strong points and be making a full time income from this, I feel certain! Thanx again! Great to be on your team Ti! The vid was strong as well…

    • tiroberts

      You’re welcome, Emp.

As far as the social buttons, I would opt for WP. The many plugins they have for integrating your social media profiles makes it much more easier.

But I’m sure there’s a way to do it on blogger. Like you mentioned, you just have to do your research to figure it out.

Thanks dropping by. See ya’ around,

  • Stacie Walker

    Hello Ti,

It’s good to see that you are back to blogging. I completely understand that you have other priorities besides being online. Thanks for comparing the two blogging platforms. If I had to choose, I would definitely go with WP. It’s the giant or blogging platforms!

Thanks, Stacie. Yeah, it’s been busy but I had to make time for you all. I appreciate your input and support. :)

    Hi Ti,

Yeah, my babe is back, lol. I am really glad you are back, my friend. I have been also off for a while because of my job (personal trainer); too many clients these days.

I remember when I started blogging, I did it with Blogger, but following Lisa’s advice, I switched to wordpress. I think both platforms have points in their favor, but I prefer to work with wordpress.

    Big hug!!

    • tiroberts

      Hi, Juan!

Great to see your comment; thanks for dropping by hun and sharing your input. :)

  • Maketta

I had a natural health blog with blogger and it got shutdown. I lost quite a bit of stuff. In fact, I’m in the process of restarting my natural health blog all over again with another blogging/site platform. I will never use Blogger again.

    • Ti Roberts

Thanks for sharing your blogger experience with us, Maketta. I’m glad you’ve not let the mishap discourage you from building your up your website. :)

Let me know if there’s anything I can do to help you along.
