MLM Prospecting

MLM prospecting can be simply dreadful…

Especially if you’re new to the game.  To be quite honest, I don’t really like MLM prospecting – well, not the cold call prospecting anyway.

I’ve been in the home based business industry for nearly 7 years now and through my experience, I’ve learned that to truly make it in this industry you gotta 1.) Have an endless amount of commitment and drive and 2.) You need to have a strong stomach – that means you have to become resilient to rejection and hearing the word “No.”

See most people that come into the MLM/Network Marketing industry view this business as a “game” and don’t want to do what it takes to make it – either that or they didn’t realize that this industry actually requires “work” when they signed up.

By the way, I should mention – MLM is NOT where you can get rich quick overnight nor is it a lotto ticket.  It requires work, just like your 9 to 5 requires you to work.

Most people who quit this industry can’t detach they’re emotions from business.  When they hear the word “No” they take it personal and as a hit against their self-esteem.  They tend to internalize the rejection which is counterproductive and doesn’t aid them pressing forward to get to the “Yes.”

If you feel this way, I wanna tell you there’s no reason to take the rejection personally.  It really has nothing to do with you.

The people that make it in this industry are the ones that don’t get emotionally attached to the answer when they’re MLM prospecting.

Quite honestly, MLM prospecting is really all about running your numbers…

That means talking to enough people to sort through the “no’s” and get to the few “yes’s.”  Not everyone you speak to is going to continue to say “no” to you because the “no’s” are essentially practice runs to sharpen your closing skills to get them to where you start to hear more “yes’s.”

MLM prospecting is a required skill set in network marketing.  To really get good at closing you’re just gonna have to tough it out and plow thorough those “no’s” until you’re hearing nothing but “yes.”
